Summer Jobs for Youth - Expand your Program's Workforce This Summer!
Georgia has received $31 million to provide summer employment opportunities for youth ages 14-24. These funds have been distributed to local Workforce Investment Boards (WIBs) which are responsible for matching youth with summer workforce experiences.
Interested in expanding your workforce – at no cost?
For out-of-school time programs operating this summer, you may be able to expand your workforce at no cost to your program by employing a WIA youth. Local Workforce Investment Boards (WIBs) will pay the wages, taxes and worker’s compensation for all youth participants. You are required to provide a meaningful work experience and appropriate supervision. This is a great way to provide a young person with a professional work experience and help you run a high-quality program!
To find out how you can become a worksite, contact your local WIB youth contact. Your county of residence determines which WIB/WIA Local Workforce Area serves you:

Connect Older Youth to Summer Jobs
Let older youth (ages 14 to 24) in your program know about the opportunity to work this summer through the ARRA Summer Jobs for Youth program. Youth can contact their local WIB to sign-up. Please note that depending on the region, spaces may be filled for this summer.
