Georgia Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

In collaboration with the Georgia PTA, the Georgia Afterschool Investment Council (GAIC) is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Afterschool Alliance to spearhead Afterschool for All: Project 2010 in Georgia.  GAIC will lead the project in the state with the Georgia PTA, joining forces with the Afterschool Alliance to recruit and recognize those who support the goal of afterschool for all Georgia's children and youth.

More than twenty-five percent of Georgia’s 1.5 million children (ages 5-18) are alone and unsupervised after school.  By signing the declaration link below, you will help send a strong message to Georgia’s leaders that afterschool and summer learning opportunities count for Georgia’s children and families.  The goal is to reach 100,000 parents, grandparents, and concerned citizens. As our voice grows and strengthens, more of Georgia’s local and state leaders will make afterschool and summer programs a priority.

All you have to do is sign this declaration and send it in or you can also sign up online at http://www.afterschool2010.org/join_GA.cfm.  You will immediately become a Project 2010 Partner who will receive updates on afterschool nationally and in the state, and will be recognized as a partner on the project website.  Thousands have joined the effort nationally.  Among them are hundreds of mayors, police chiefs and prosecutors; parents, educators, and concerned citizens; Fortune 500 companies; and a diverse set of high-profile organizations such as the National PTA, NAACP, AARP and NBA.
