Who We Are
The Georgia Afterschool Investment Council is dedicated to ensuring Georgia's youth have access to high-quality, affordable afterschool and summer learning programs. Over 1 million kids, at least half of Georgia’s school-age children, may spend time away from their parents between the hours of 3PM-6PM and in the summer. Too often, our youth do not have access to the quality out-of-school time experiences that can help them develop into educated, engaged citizens. The Georgia Afterschool Investment Council (GAIC) is committed to responding to such challenges.
Our organization is implementing an inter-related public policy and engagement strategy to improve youth development outcomes in Georgia and build the public will to support public and private investments in afterschool and summer learning. GAIC focuses on building the quality of out-of-school time programs by providing professional development opportunities focused on positive youth development and professionalizing the afterschool field.
